The story of
Trams have run in Sofia since 1901, initially electric from the outset. The network is operated today by the Centre for Urban Mobility (Център за градска мобилност), which coordinates all of Sofia's public transport modes, and remains a key part of the city's transit alongside its expanding metro system.
