The story of
The South Lake Union Streetcar opened in 2007, linking downtown Seattle to the South Lake Union neighborhood. The First Hill Streetcar followed in 2016, connecting Pioneer Square to Capitol Hill via First Hill. The system is owned by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and operated under contract by King County Metro.
