Ruter

The story of

Ruter

Ruter AS was formed in 2008 as the public transport authority for Oslo and Akershus, consolidating what had previously been separately branded metro (T-banen), tram (Oslo Sporvognsdrift), bus, and ferry operations under one authority. The T-banen network dates to 1966 as one of the first metro systems in Scandinavia, while Oslo's trams have run since 1875, among the oldest tram networks still operating in Europe.
