MTR Light Rail is a street-running light rail network serving Tuen Mun and Yuen Long in Hong Kong's New Territories, a separate system from the heavy rail MTR network.
The story of
Light Rail opened on 18 September 1988 as the first rapid transit line built for the then-new towns of Tuen Mun and Yuen Long, originally operated by the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) and folded into MTR Corporation when KCR and MTR merged in 2007.
