The story of
Lviv's first horse-drawn tram opened on May 3, 1880 — the first tram in Ukraine — with electric traction introduced in 1894 and full electrification completed by 1908. Today the network is run by the municipal enterprise Lvivelectrotrans, which holds a monopoly on trams and trolleybuses in the city, operating 8 tram routes alongside an extensive trolleybus network.
