Jerusalem's light rail Red Line, operated by Kfir, runs through the heart of the city connecting Neve Ya'akov in the north to Hadassah Ein Kerem in the southwest.
The story of
The Red Line opened in August 2011 as the first light rail line in Israel, running along Jaffa Road through Jerusalem's city center and past the Old City. Operation was originally run by CityPass before transferring to the Kfir consortium in 2022. A second (Green/Blue) line is under construction as part of a wider expansion of the network.
