Estonia's national passenger rail operator, running electric commuter trains around Tallinn and diesel intercity services connecting Tartu, Narva, Valga, and Pärnu.
The story of
Elron traces back to Elektriraudtee, founded in 1998 to run Tallinn's electrified commuter network. On 1 January 2014 it absorbed the diesel intercity routes previously run by Edelaraudtee, becoming Estonia's sole domestic passenger rail operator under the AS Eesti Liinirongid holding and rebranding as Elron. Its Stadler FLIRT electric and diesel fleet, delivered from 2013, earned the nickname "porgandid" (carrots) for its orange livery.
