TrainsFYI for your assistant
Find stations, rail networks, trains, timetables, and current departures from ChatGPT or Claude. Public train tools work without a TrainsFYI account.
Connect the server
For a custom connection, add this server URL in your assistant’s connector settings:
https://mcp.trains.fyi/mcpIn ChatGPT, choose OAuth with automatic discovery. In Claude, choose sign-in when needed and automatic client registration or its published identity. You do not need an API key or a client secret. Availability of custom connectors depends on your assistant’s settings and plan.
Create or connect your account
When an account feature needs sign-in, your assistant opens TrainsFYI. Continue with Apple or Google, or create a free account with email. Use the same sign-in method as your mobile account if you already have one. You do not need to download an app or buy a subscription to connect.
Review the requesting assistant and return address, then choose Allow connection. Optional website onboarding can wait until your next visit. Connecting currently authorizes account and Pro-status checks; it does not grant access to saved activity or change your subscription.
TrainsFYI Pro is a separate subscription from ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro. Existing TrainsFYI Pro access follows your connected TrainsFYI account. No additional premium train tools are available through this connector yet.
Manage access
Use Connected assistants to disconnect. Connections expire after 30 days; your assistant will ask you to connect again. Disconnecting does not cancel a subscription.
Trouble connecting?
Keep the sign-in and consent pages in the same browser. If the request expires, start again from your assistant. Allow sign-in pop-ups for Apple or Google, or use email sign-in. If Pro access is missing, check that you connected the same account used for your subscription.
