The story of

Metrorrey

Metrorrey, officially the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metrorrey, opened on April 25, 1991 with Line 1 running east to west across the city of Monterrey. Line 2 opened in 1994, extending service through central Monterrey, and Line 3 opened in 2021 after years of planning and construction delays, linking the city center to the northeast. The system is owned and operated by the state government of Nuevo León and serves the Monterrey metropolitan area, the second-largest metropolitan economy in Mexico.
