The story of

Vy (Norwegian State Railways)

Vy, formerly known as Norges Statsbaner (NSB), has its origins in the 19th century, with the first railway line opening in 1854 between Oslo and Eidsvoll. NSB was the state railway company for over 150 years, playing a crucial role in Norway's development and modernization. In 2019, NSB was rebranded as Vy, reflecting a broader focus on mobility and public transport. Vy continues to operate most of Norway's long-distance, regional, and commuter trains, as well as some bus services, and is known for scenic routes such as the Bergen Line and Dovre Line.
