The story of
The concept of improved transit to Pearson Airport originated in the late 1980s. After various studies and proposals, Metrolinx took over the project in 2010. Construction began in 2011 as part of the Georgetown South Project. The UP Express service launched on June 6, 2015. Initially criticized for high fares, the service underwent a fare reduction in 2016 to increase accessibility.
