The story of
Skånetrafiken is the regional public transport authority for Skåne, Sweden's southernmost county. It operates the Pågatågen commuter rail network connecting Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, Kristianstad, and other towns across the region. Skånetrafiken also coordinates Öresundståg services that cross the Øresund Bridge to Copenhagen, making it a key node in Scandinavian cross-border rail travel. The Pågatågen network has expanded significantly since its launch in 1983, with the opening of the City Tunnel through central Malmö in 2010 greatly improving connectivity.
