The story of
Öresundståg is a cross-border rail service connecting southern Sweden with Copenhagen, Denmark via the Øresund Bridge. Launched in 2000 when the bridge opened, the service transformed the Øresund region into an integrated commuter zone. Trains run from Gothenburg, Kalmar, and Karlskrona through Malmö and across the bridge to Copenhagen Airport and Copenhagen Central Station. The service is jointly operated by Swedish and Danish railway companies and carries millions of cross-border commuters annually, making it one of Europe's busiest international commuter rail links.
