Miami-Dade Transit

Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) was established in 1960 and has grown to become the largest transit agency in Florida. The Metrorail system opened in 1984, providing rapid transit service through Miami and surrounding communities. The Metromover, a free automated people mover, began operation in 1986, serving downtown Miami and connecting with Metrorail. MDT also operates an extensive Metrobus network and paratransit services, playing a vital role in the region's mobility and economic development.
