The story of
FlixTrain launched in 2018 as a rail extension of the FlixBus brand, operated by FlixMobility GmbH. It became the first private open-access long-distance rail operator to compete directly with Deutsche Bahn on major German routes. FlixTrain has since expanded to routes in Sweden and Austria, offering budget-friendly intercity travel.
