The story of
Transperth was established in 1998 as the brand name for the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia's metropolitan services. Perth's suburban rail network dates back to 1881, with significant expansion in recent decades including the Mandurah Line (2007), Forrestfield-Airport Link (2022), and the Ellenbrook and Yanchep extensions (2024). The network now spans eight rail lines serving approximately 85 stations across the Perth metro region, complemented by an extensive bus network and the South Perth ferry service.
