The story of

Metro de Medellín

The Medellín Metro opened in 1995 with Line A (Niquía–La Estrella), the first and only metro in Colombia. Line B opened in 1996. The system later added Metrocable gondola lines (from 2004), the Ayacucho Tram (2016), and integrates with MetroPlus BRT. All services use the Civica card for unified fares.
